The proVizor mHealth Project is Underway!!
proVizor mHealth Community Services Package plus 2 years of licenses for the price of 1 year.
October 15, 2019
Update 4/13/20:
As we prepare to publish the results of phase two, we confront a change to our name. The COVID19 crisis has changed perceptions of “telehealth” and “telemedicine.” Although there has always been confusing, the traditional definitions, which use “telemedicine” to refer to video encounters and “telehealth” to refer to online and mobile applications more broadly, that distinction is lost in the reaction to COVID19, where both terms are used to refer to real-time video encounters. Therefore, we are replacing the term “Telehealth” with “mHealth.” Therefore, henceforth we will refer to the “proVizor mHealth Project.”
Update 2/27/20:
The first phase of the proVizor Telehealth Project is complete. Read about the first phase of our work in the executive summary of The Challenge of Expressing Evidence-Based Practice through a Telehealth Platform. In the next phase, we will work with a few select communities and organizations to drill into the detailed workflows around physical health, mental health, addiction, housing and offender reentry.
A collaboration between White Pine Systems (proVizor), Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) and healthcare and social service providers across the nation to advance a new model for telehealth to improve health outcomes and lower cost across the continuum of care.
As noted in our discussion of recent regulatory and legislative policies, we are in the midst of a transformation in technology-enabled patient engagement and care collaboration across the continuum of care. Now, after more than 10 years and 20 semesters of projects addressing complex areas of engagement and collaboration, The proVizor mHealth Project brings together the technology, research and academic history of proVizor and IUPUI with the practice experience of leading health and social care providers and payers to define requirements, test and deploy solutions based on our patent-pending provizor care platform.
Initially, the focus will be on the following areas, called “Care Units,” which together constitute an area of tremendous potential to improve outcomes, lower cost, and increase operational efficiency:
- Substance Use Disorder (including both behavioral and medication assisted treatment)
- Physical Health (Following our mHealth Coach model)
- Mental Health (Focused on serious mental illness)
- Housing (Following the Housing First model)
- Offender Reentry (Focused on reducing the rate of recidivism)
